Motorcycle Insurance
So you’ve got yourself your dream bike and want to know how you can take care of your baby! Read on – along with every form of freedom comes responsibility, and the sense of freedom that a motorbike can give is no exception to the rule. Remember, when you are on two wheels, you are at risk! Yeah, a motorcycle is riskier than a car. On the other hand it is more pleasurable than a car as well! So all you need to do is to make up your mind that safety comes first – and enjoy your bike to the fullest, staying safe at the same time, and keeping the safety of everyone around you in mind doesn’t hurt either! Motorcycle insurance is one of these things you need to worry about…
You need insurance to ride a bike!
Well, you don’t – but that’s the law. You need to have at least a third party insurance to ride a motorcycle on the road – whichever city, whichever country and whatever state you are from. Third party insurance generally means- that your insurance company pays for damages your vehicle may cause to the vehicle it collides with, in case of accident. This is the most basic insurance policy (the cheapest motorcycle insurance as well) that you may get to run your vehicle on a road. If you treasure your vehicle as you should thou, do consider a more comprehensive insurance policy. The truth is, most young guns just getting their first motorcycle wouldn’t really worry about getting their motorcycle insurance papers done – that’s the wrong attitude. In fact the day you decide you want a motorbike you need to work out how much it would cost you to run it – expenses include tires, fuel, chain maintenance, services and of course insurance and tax. You would do better to get a cheaper motorbike and do all the necessary (listed above) than to get a Fatboy that you cant afford to maintain and run lawfully!
Get Informed and stay that way…
If you have any doubts at all of whether you need insurance to run your motorcycle or not, and if you have any questions particular to your state or city – do take part in motorcycle owners’ forums and discussions on the internet. Do speak to the cops about local law. Do worry about the laws of neighboring states if you are going to be riding through them! USA is a country that is marked by this feature – different states have different laws – and if you are a foreigner in USA, never forget that. Anyway, coming back to our topic of discussion – motorcycle insurance is the mature and safe way to own a bike – do get insured and pay your premiums on time. Maybe not very original this, but remember – in this case, a stitch in time does save nine!
