An honest used BMW motorbike dealer will firstly have good knowledge about BMW bikes. He/She would be aware of the various characteristics and behavior of BMW bikes. Possibly, he/she would be already dealing in new BMW bikes or would have dealt in same in past. A good dealer will have good information material like brochures, maintenance guides about the bike. Also he/she would himself/herself inspect the used bike which comes for sale in his/her showroom. Or, he/she would care to hire a mechanic to inspect the automobile and also fix some of the defects. A good used BMW dealer would ask for all buying and maintenance related records of the bike from the seller. The dealer would also look at insurance history and repair records to assess the durability of the used model which is for sale. He/She might also call concerned parties to authenticate seller’s claims. And above all he/she would be himself/herself certify the bike or ask the seller to get it certified by authorized automobile agencies. Signs of something wrong

You should advise caution while buying a used BMW bike from dealer. If the used BMW dealer is trying to hide details or avoiding your questions, then possibly he/she doesn’t know much about the bike and is simply making fake claims about the bike. Worst, he/she is hiding some important defect in the bike. Never buy from a used BMW dealer who promises to amend the bike only if you make some or full payment to buy it.  Beware of used BMW dealers who would not let you test ride or even touch the bike.

If you decide to buy the used BMW bike, ask for complete documentation. If you are taking a loan to buy the bike, be clear on down payment, monthly EMI and interest rates. Many dealers offer loan plans where no payment is required for the first 90 days. A good dealer selling a pre-owned BMW will try to cover the BMW Service Contract. Many pre-owned BMW motorbike dealers will give you free coupons to buy accessories from them. The most common list of documents you should ask for from a used BMW dealer is Bill of Sale. It should clearly describe the model number of bike, accessories already fitted on the bike, the cost and dealer’s name, address and contact details. Title of the bike should be absolutely clean. Don’t ever buy a used BMW whose title is not clear and has liens on it. Take a copy or if possible the original service and repair records from the dealer. Also list down any pre-existing identified defects in the bike.
